• Would You Use an Over-the-Counter Genetic Test?

Starting Friday, Walgreens shoppers can buy an over-the-counter genetics test from Pathway Genomics at 7,500 stores across the country. Priced at $20 to $30, the kit claims to offer information on users' possibility of developing conditions like Alzheimer's disease, breast cancer, or diabetes. Access to the scientific analysis online, however, costs another $79 to $179. Researchers are cautioning consumers, saying that without a full evaluation of other factors, like lifestyle and environment, genetic testing is incomplete when diagnosing a potential illness.

This is not easy B&W info people are dabbling with. Joe or Jane six-pack can't figure the data out unaided.

This option gives lower income people the chance to see if they might have a reason to see actual doctor$ if their test is positive.

People should be able to use this but then, always check results with a board certified physician.

Genetic testing benefits genealogist and scientist who study disease patterns. I'd be skeptical of the AMA using personal information.

Yeah, And I believe home abortion equipment should be included with the "infallible" testing product to abort positive results. Idiots.
